Certified Birth Assistants can work in home birth settings throughout the U.S. and are especially needed in rural locations in Least Developed Nations (LDN) where health professionals are few and far between.  Having a skilled birth attendant at a birth in a Western nation is a comfort while in the developing world it often means the difference between life and death.

Becoming a Certified Birth Assistant will offer you the chance to work closely with mothers, babies and families and help improve outcomes in birth.  You will be the hands for the midwife or doctor you work with and a comforter to the women you serve.  It is an excellent way to make an already precious time ever more perfect.
