Do you long to serve the women of the nations? Are you planning to work in the Muslim

World? Do you desire to serve long-term in a developing nation? Has the Lord asked you to
be a missionary but planted the call of a midwife in your heart? This workshop will introduce
you to how you can use birth work as a missionary tool, serve women and babies in a
practical way throughout the world, and be part of the solution to one of the most desperate
needs of our day.

Lectures and Lecturers

This workshop will introduce you to the global crisis surrounding mothers and babies and
begin to equip you with an understanding of the incomprehensible and unmet need of our
day and how we can only answer it through Holy Spirit led awakening and rebirth followed
by practical application. Lectures will include topics on both spiritual understanding of the
need and practical skills to meet them. Speakers will include trainers, childbirth educators,
midwives and those who are experts in their field.

What Makes our Program Special?

This workshop is part of an 8 month training track. After the successful completion of this
workshop and subsequent training modules participants can apply for a minimum 12 month

One of the greatest crises facing our world today surrounds the field of maternal-child
development.
This workshop is the introductory portion of four modules put together to form the MOM
course elective. This is an educational training track for Maternal Development through
the Applied Family Science arm of the Science and Technology Department. The focus of
Applied Family Science is to take existing scientific knowledge and develop more practical
applications as it applies to the wellness of the family and thereby the community. It is a
bridge between the existing healthcare system of our day which is a disease-based approach
and the analytic, or well-grounded assumption, of original design and intended wellness
through prevention.

Our encompassing objective is the development of the woman within the development of the
community. This micro-approach is based on the axiom: if the mother is well, the family is
well, and if the family is well the community will thrive. Applied Family Science must be the
forerunner to the implementation of community development principles. The MOM course
will integrate maternal and child health, prevention through nutrition and sustainable food
development, the use of appropriate technologies for the entire family, and training trainers for
multiplication.
