Life as a midwife or midwifery student can be overwhelming. Balancing the demands of your studies, work, family, and relationships, while navigating the emotional and physical challenges of the profession, can often feel isolating, but we are not meant to do this alone. As midwives, we are conditioned to carry these burdens endlessly and alone, but true strength comes as we learn to walk together, work from a place of rest and enjoy community. This process of connection and rest is not something we naturally know how to do as midwives—it must be grown and nurtured within us and intentionally cultivated. This retreat is specifically to engage in rest, receive pastoral care and come away with tools to begin working from a place of rest.
You are invited to come ready to be filled. Led by experienced women in the midwifery field and spiritual mentors, you will engage in rest and community, learning spiritual practices designed to help you thrive in the midst of the tensions and learn how to work from a place of rest.
What to Expect:
- Time to Pull Away from the Everyday: The retreat offers you the gift of stepping out of the busyness of life. Away from the constant pressures of studies, clinical work, and daily responsibilities, you will have space to breathe, reflect, and connect.
- Learning to Find Rest in the Tension: Through a series of teachings, personal reflections, and group discussions, you will be guided in learning how to find rest in the tension—and in the pressures of midwifery.
- A Community of Midwives: You do not walk this journey alone. Surrounded by other women—midwives and midwifery students who share your calling—you will receive support and encouragement, both spiritually and emotionally. This retreat is a safe space for connection, honesty, and mutual support.
Every aspect of the retreat is thoughtfully crafted to create an environment where you can encounter rest in meaningful ways. Each day will have a fully scheduled rhythm, balancing times of activity, teaching, worship, reflection, and community connection. Whether you are processing through personal struggles, facing challenges in your midwifery journey, or simply seeking a reset and renewal, this retreat offers a sacred space.
- Deeper Connection: This retreat is an opportunity to grow in your relationship with other women who share your journey.
- Rest and Restoration: You will return to your daily life refreshed, renewed, and with a deeper sense of peace, knowing that God is present with you in every moment, guiding you as you walk out your calling as a midwife.
This retreat is more than a break from the hustle of life—it’s a chance to deeply encounter the heart of God for birth, midwifery and for you to be well along the way.
